Griffin Sports and Arts Fund – 2018/19 Round 1
Continuing on from the success of the Griffin Sports and Arts Fund (SAF), launched last year, the autumn applications are now open.
As part of the Griffin Schools Trust’s commitment to giving our students the widest possible access to the arts and sports, we are calling on all students who are currently demonstrating a commitment in either area, outside of the curriculum, to apply to the fund.
The aim of the Sports and Arts Fund (SAF) is to enable pupils to advance on the next stage of their investment in an activity in which they are showing a real interest. For example, this could include, but is not limited to; supporting a student to buy or hire an instrument whilst studying for their next grade, or get hold of specialist sports equipment for a student who is playing competitively outside of school.
See below for some of our success stories from the last round of applications, summer term 2018, where we rewarded a number of young Griffins for the dedication they have shown to widen their horizons. Awards included:
- pCornets for Bramford’s pBuzz group
- a donation for a Lordswood student, who has been dancing since she was two years old, towards purchasing a new tap dance costume
- a Gymnova foam learning beam for a Race Leys student who demonstrated a commitment towards Gymnastics from a young age
- a donation towards a new cricket bat for a Nicholas Chamberlaine Sixth Form student, who plays at County level and has featured in the England Women’s Development squad.
Applications are being accepted by Year 3 – 13 students from any of our member schools and that includes Stantonbury Students. To apply please complete the online application form that can be found here: https://goo.gl/forms/1fRsbrjuJ6MmCLYb2
