Global Youth Ambassador Project
Stantonbury International School will be joining the network of schools across the world who are part of the Global Youth Ambassador Project. This initiative aims to develop global citizenship and promote global learning.
As part of this, we would like to offer an opportunity for students in China to visit our school for a week at the end of June or start of July 2019. These students can then experience what it is like being at our school and well as exploring the cultural resources that our country has to offer. In return, we have the opportunity to learn from Chinese students, create new friendships and make a return visit.
In order for this to happen, we need to find families who are happy to host two students from China.
Would you be willing to be a host family for a week?
Being a host family is rewarding, fun and educational and all host families will be paid.
We will run workshops helping families and students understand more about China and its people. There will be practical sessions about speaking basic phrases, using chopsticks and making lanterns. We will also discuss what it means to be a global ambassador and give all students involved GYA badges and booklets.
