Educational visit to Picasso 1932 Exhibition, Tate Modern, London, 6 July, 2018
Following on from our Key Stage 3 projects where art students took inspiration from Picasso’s portraits and collages to produce strong pieces using oil pastels and other techniques, we are arranging a visit to Tate Modern.
This is for our Year 10 students studying Art and Design, Textiles and Photography to give them the opportunity to see the first ever solo Pablo Picasso, exhibition at Tate Modern, in London, 6 July, 2018.
It will bring them face-to-face with more than 100 paintings, sculpture and drawings, which will be an invaluable experience and help the students with the development of their coursework as they move into Year 11.
We will be travelling by coach and the students will be supervised at all times. The plan is to leave from the top car park at Stantonbury at 08.00 to arrive in London around 10:30, and then to leave London at 15:00 to arrive back at approximately 17:00.
We have pre-booked timed tickets to the exhibition, but students will have the opportunity to look around the rest of the gallery before and after the show. A lunch room has also been booked so we can eat together.
To cover the full cost of the visit we request a contribution of £17.00 per student, which covers the cost of insurance, transport and any entrance fees. To secure a place the full amount with the permission slip is required in our Finance Office by Thursday 21 June.
Please note that this is non-returnable as we have to make payments for the visit in advance.
We regret that the visit will be cancelled if insufficient contributions are received. If there are financial constraints within the home that indicate you may not be able to contribute towards the cost of this trip, please contact the Progress Centre on 01908 324408 as support may be available.
The Campus Charging and Remissions Policy is available on our web-site and can be requested in hard copy from Student Services.
The official letter with all the information about the visit and the tear off permission slip, which needs to be returned to the school with full £17 payment is available to download here
