Show My Homework was launched at Stantonbury in September 2017 to support parents and help students in accessing and completing homework. Six months on, we are starting to analyse the data and can start to target areas for development.
Since its inception77% of students have used the site with most gaining access via the App – available as a free download from Google Play or the App Store. Once logged in, students receive regular push notifications about approaching assignments and access to online tasks, such as quizzes and spelling tests.
Parental engagement with the site is above average too. Access to the open calendar is through the Show My Homework website, or like the students many parents find the App the best way to keep tabs on what homework their child is being set, and when it’s due. Notifications are sent automatically direct to a mobile phone so that there’s never any leeway!
Since September, teachers have set 3,443 homework tasks. That’s an average of over 225 tasks set every week! We know from speaking to students and parents that you like this system, that the visibility and clarity it provides about homework are a real improvement on last year. We want to encourage parents and students to download the App and use all the features of the programme, as we firmly believe that this will support student’s achievement.
If you haven’t already, it’s really simple to set up an account. The Head of Year has access to login information and can reprint the welcome letter. Parents and Students can request a password reset email, which will go to the email already registered with the school, by clicking Forgot password? on the Show My Homework login page. Once you have entered your email, a password reset email will be sent to you. If you do not see the password reset email in your inbox, you may want to check your junk or spam folder. Simply follow the instructions in that email to reset your password and regain access to your account.
