When students come to Stantonbury we expect them to make good progress in all the subjects and activities that they do. Students will be setting goals and evaluating achievements.
The Student Planner is a very important communications link between school and home and it provides parents with clear information about homework. Both parents and teachers are encouraged to use the planner as a quick and effective means of communication.
The lesson log can be used to acknowledge success in a lesson or report inappropriate behaviour that affects the climate for learning. Brief messages can be written in the planner and both tutors and parents are asked to sign it weekly in order to maintain this channel of communication.
Each student receives two progress reports during the year which monitor individual achievement in all subject areas. The data generated from the two progress reports will be used to review students' progress with tutors. The review information can also be used in achievement reviews and curriculum progress meetings.
There are three formal opportunities when parents can meet with teachers to share information and discuss progress. These meetings run from 1.30-6.30pm. At the achievement review meetings which happen twice a year you will be able to meet with the tutor to gain an overview of progress and to set targets. At the curriculum progress meetings you will be able to make appointments with key subject teachers.
We would encourage parents to contact us at any time they would like to discuss progress.
